To make these jello shots you just need the following ingredients:

  • Vanilla vodka
  •  Cranberry/pomegranate juice
  • Plain gelatin
  • Hot water
  • Cranberries (2-3 per shot)
  • Powered sugar

If you don’t like vodka or want something different, here are a few other options:

  • White rum
  • Plain vodka

I used a juice blend of pomegranate and cranberry but you can use plain cranberry if you prefer.

Personally I found that the two fruit blend made the jello shots a darker, more festive red color.

Recipe Directions

Cranberry Jello Shots

There are a quite a few cranberry jello shot recipes on the internet that require cranberry flavored jello.
If you can get yours hands on that, then you can make an easy version of these jello shots by making the jello as per the instructions and substituting 1/2 cup of cold water for 1/2 cup of vodka.

As I could not find the cranberry jello in my local grocery store, I have a feeling some of you may have trouble too so I have created this recipe which just uses cranberry juice.

The total time to make these shots is about an hour and a half with around 10 minutes of active work and the rest of time waiting for your jello to chill.

Add in the vodka and whisk until all the powder is absorbed.
Next add in the boiling water.
Pour your jello into the shot glasses and place in the fridge for a couple of hours.

How To Garnish Your Jello Shots

Cranberry Jello Shots

Make your cranberries look like they have been covered in glistening snow by rolling them in powered sugar.
Then gently place them on your jello shots and serve immediately.

Can I make these Jello Shots without alcohol?

To make a non-alcoholic version of these Jello shots, simply omit the 1/2 cup of vodka for each layer and replace with another 1/2 cup of cold water.
