If you are a fan of the Harry Potter movies, you will know that The Polyjuice Potion is a potion that allows someone to temporarily assume the physical form of someone else.
In the books, Polyjuice is incredibly complicated to make, requiring two different steps and a slew of ingredients.
Luckily our version of this bright green drink is easy to make in just a couple of minutes.

Ingredients
In the Harry Potter movies, you’d need a lot of crazy ingredients to make up a batch of Polyjuice.
From fluxweed and knotgrass to leeches and bicorn horn, it’s not your average potion.
Harry Potter Polyjuice Ingredients
- Fluxweed
- Knottgrass
- Lacewig Flies
- Leeches
- Horn of Bicorn
- Boomslang Skin
- A piece of the person you’re turning into
Our human friendly version of the potion contains some really simple ingredients:
- Malibu Rum
- Melon Liqueur
- Simple Syrup
- Lemon-lime soda
If you can’t find melon liqueur (the most common brand name is Midori).
As far as equipment goes, all you need is a large plastic syringe (this adds a nice spooky touch too!)
Directions
This is the perfect Halloween cocktail as it is really easy to make and always a hit.
Here’s how to make it:
Add the simple syrup to a glass with ice
Next add your Malibu Rum
For the bright green color, add in your melon liqueur.
Top with Lemon-lime soda for the bubbly potion effect!
How To Serve Your PolyJuice
If you do fancy making it a bit special for your next Halloween party, here are some fun ideas:
- Add plastic spiders or bats to your potion
- Make a huge batch in a large bowl and serve it as a bubbling punch

Its easy to make in minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Malibu Rum
- 1.5 oz Melon Liqueur (Midori or similar)
- 0.5 oz Simple syrup
- Lemon-lime soda
Instructions
- Add ice to your glass then add in the simple syrup
- Next pour the malibu rum into your glass and stir
- Add the melon liqueur
- Top your drink off with the lemon-lime soda just before serving
Notes
- If you cannot find melon liqueur, you can use another green drink such as Sourpuss Apple.
