Royal Hawaiian Cocktail
The main ingredient that makes this cocktail amazing is a violet colored gin.
Empress gin is one of the most famous but you can use any local brand of purple gin too.
This will give your cocktail that tropical look. In my variation of the cocktail, I also added in some Blue Curacao to get teal colored drink.
Ingredients:
- Gin
- Blue Curacao
- Fresh pineapple juice
- Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- Orgeat syrup
- Crushed ice or ice cubes
- Pineapple leaves and a pineapple wedge.
If you cannot find orgeat syrup, you can substitute for simple syrup in a pinch.
You can also make your own orgeat syrup, here is a recipe with directions.
Directions
Combine all the ingredients except the gin in a cocktail shaker and shaker for 15 seconds.
Strain into a collins glass with crushed ice, layer gin on top using the back of a spoon.
If using Blue Curacao add it in after the gin.
Garnish with a Pineapple leaves and a wedge of pineapple.
Tips For An Amazing Drink
- Use fresh pineapple juice for the best flavor and frothy texture.
- A good orgeat syrup adds depth—you can make it yourself or by it in the store.
- Chill your glass beforehand for a crisp, refreshing experience
