To create the perfect St-Germain wine spritzer, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- St-Germain elderflower liqueur
- White wine
- Club soda or sparkling water (chilled)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lemon or lime slices (for garnish)
What is St Germain Liqueur?
St-Germain is an artisanal liqueur is crafted from the delicate and aromatic elderflower blossoms, handpicked in the French Alps and bottled without preservatives.
Its floral and fruity notes, with hints of pear, peach, and citrus, provide a unique and delightful flavor profile and is great in many cocktails.
How To Make A St Germain Spritz
Fill a wineglass halfway with ice cubes to ensure your spritzer stays chilled throughout. (I used these stemless Champagne flutes from Amazon!).
Measure and pour the St-Germain elderflower liqueur into the glass.
Pour dry white wine into the glass, allowing it to mingle with the elderflower liqueur.
Choose a crisp and light white wine to complement the delicate flavors of St-Germain.
Finish off your spritzer by pouring chilled club soda or sparkling water into the glass, filling it to the brim.
Use a long spoon or cocktail stirrer to gently mix the ingredients together.
Garnish your spritzer with a slice of fresh lemon or lime.
Tips For The Perfect St Germain White Wine Spritzer
- Opt for a dry white wine to balance the sweetness of St-Germain. Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Albariño work wonderfully.
- Besides citrus slices, you can experiment with other garnishes like fresh berries or herb sprigs such as mint or basil.
- Ensure that all the ingredients, including the wine, St-Germain, and soda water, are well-chilled. This helps maintain the spritzer’s refreshing nature.
