How To Make Caramel Apple Jello Shots
Prepare the Gelatin Mixture:
In a bowl, add the gelatin packets and 1/2 a cup of cold water
Next add 1/2 cup of vodka and 1 cup of boiling water and stir until the gelatin is dissolved fully.
Finally add the green apple drink mix and stir into the mixture quickly.
Assemble the Shots:
Lightly grease your shot glasses with cooking spray to make them easier to unmold later, or use disposable plastic shot cups.
Pour the gelatin mixture into each shot glass, filling them about 3/4 full.
Chill and Set:
Place the shot glasses in the refrigerator and chill until the gelatin is firm, at least 2-4 hours or overnight.
Add the caramel layer
Once set, top each shot glass with caramel sauce.
Alternatively, drizzle each shot with caramel sauce just before serving.
Garnish
There are a few different options for your garnish.
You can add a small piece of caramel or a slice of apple as a garnish or just leave your shots as is – they look great already!

Frequently asked questions
Does the alcohol burn off when making gelatin?
Not with this recipe. That is why it is a good idea to use cold alcohol.
But with our recipe, you are not cooking the gelatin on the stove, you are dissolving the powder in boiling water and then adding the liquor.
If you are worried that the boiling water may dull your alcohol content, just wait until the jello mixture has cooled a little before adding the liquor.
Can I use other liquors besides vodka?
Absolutely. Some of the other ideas that are popular choices include apple schnapps, rum, and flavored vodkas such as salted caramel.
You do not have to stick with strong liquors.
You could even try apple flavored wine coolers or mixed drinks.
Can I make these without alcohol?
You have to make some jello shots without booze for the designated drivers as well as those who just do not drink alcohol.
You can easily omit the flavored vodka or liquor in this recipe.
How to store leftovers:
You can keep these tasty cups of tart booze in the fridge for up to five days.
