If you love mojitos, you just have to try this blueberry mojito made with gin.
I was originally making this drink as a summery cocktail for sipping by the pool then I realized that it is perfect as an easy Halloween gin cocktail to wow your guests.
I used Empress gin for this drink just because I just love the beautiful purple color plus it works amazing for any kind of celebration like Halloween (or even as a signature drink at a wedding).

What is the Blueberry mojito made of?
To make this blueberry mojito, you start with the classic mojito ingredients:
- Mint
- Lime juice
- Club Soda
- Simple Syrup
Instead of rum, I used gin for this recipe and specifically Empress rum which is a purple rum from Canada. If you can’t get ahold of it, you can use any gin although you won’t get the pretty purple colour without adding food coloring to your mojito.
I also added 8 fresh blueberries to my mojito.
What is Empress Gin?
Empress Gin was created at the famous Fairmont Empress hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. (If you ever go to Victoria, you have to stay at the Empress Hotel).
The gin came about as result of a collaboration between the hotel and Victoria Distillers.
The gin’s botanical ingredients give it a beautiful purple colour and citrusy taste
What tools do I need to make the Witches Brew Cocktail?
You really don’t need much in order to make this cocktail which makes it perfect for any party or large gathering when you want to whip them up in minutes.
The only tool you’ll need to make this cocktail:
- A muddler for crushing the blueberries.
Don’t have a muddler?
You can use the handle of a wooden spoon instead.
How To Make The Blueberry Mojito
Step 1:Muddle
Place the blueberries, mint, lime juice and simple syrup in the bottom of the glass and muddle them until crushed.
Step 2: Add the Empress Gin and ice
Step 3: Add Club Soda
Pour it slowly on top of the mixture.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve
Garnish with mint leaves and blueberries if desired.
Blueberry Gin Mojito
This blueberry mojito is made with gin making it a delicious twist on the traditional rum cocktail.
Ingredients
- 6 Mint Leaves
- 1/2 Fresh Lime Juice
- Club Soda
- 2 oz Empress Gin (or other gin)
- 8 Fresh Blueberries
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
Instructions
- Place the blueberries, mint, lime juice and simple syrup in the bottom of the glass and muddle them until crushed.
- Add the Empress Gin and ice
- Pour it slowly on top of the mixture.
- Garnish with mint leaves and blueberries if desired.
