I’m always a sucker for tropical looking blue drinks that look like the ocean. The Blue Lagoon cocktail has everything I like.
From the tropical name to the colour like the Caribbean sea, this is one summery drink that is quickly becoming a favorite in our house.
If you love blue cocktails as much as me, you won’t want to miss trying the Blue Lagoon that reminds me of the ever popular Ocean Breeze Drink that I request all the time at home.

What alcohol is in a blue lagoon cocktail?
The alcohol in the Blue Lagoon is vodka. It’s one of the many tropical vodka cocktails such as the Bay Breeze and the Island Breeze.
The blue colour comes from the Blue Curacao in the drink and that also contains alcohol so this drink does pack a punch.
Blue Lagoon Cocktail Ingredients
To make this deliciously tropical cocktail, you will need:
- 1 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Blue Curacao
- 4 oz Lemonade
- 1 orange slice and maraschino cherries for garnish
How much alcohol is in a blue lagoon?
There are 2 ounces of alcohol in the Blue Lagoon cocktail recipe. 1 oz each of vodka and Blue Curacao.
How To Make A Blue Lagoon Cocktail
This drink is really easy to make and all you need is a cocktail shaker or mason jar to mix the ingredients.
- Combine the vodka, Blue Curacao and lemonade in a cocktail shaker
- Pour over ice
- Garnish with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry
How To Make A Blue Lagoon Mocktail
If you want to make the Blue Lagoon into a mocktail, it is pretty easy.
First of all you can omit the vodka and then substitute the Blue Curacao for a Blue Curacao syrup that does not contain alcohol. I like the one made by Torani.
Bear in mind that the non-alcoholic syrup is much sweeter than original Blue Curacao so you need a lot less (try a splash and go from there).
Keep the other ingredients the same without the vodka.

Ingredients
- 1 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Blue Curacao
- 4 oz Lemonade

Notes
To make this a Blue Lagoon Mocktail, omit the vodka and use Blue Curacao non-alcoholic syrup instead.
