This champagne mojito is one of my new favorite drinks. If you are a mojito fan then you will love this sparkling wine or champagne version that takes the best of the mojito and combines it with bubbly.
This drink is perfect for celebrations and is my top choice for a signature wedding cocktail for December weddings. I’ve also served it for a crowd at holiday events and got rave reviews.
The best thing about this drink? It is easy to make in just minutes, making it great for large gatherings.

Why you’ll love this Champagne Cocktail
This Champagne Mojito recipe is:
- Refreshing and delicious
- Perfect for the holidays
- Great for any occasion
- Easy to make
What is the Champagne Mojito made of?
Like a regular mojito, this champagne mojito contains lime, mint and rum but instead of soda water, we substitute sparkling wine or champagne in this cocktail.
You can use any sparkling wine such as Prosecco or Cava instead of champagne depending on your preference and budget.
- 2 ounces white rum
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup or sugar
- 8 Mint leaves
- Champagne or sparkling wine
As you can see, the main difference between a “regular” mojito and a champagne mojito is that you use champagne instead of soda water to finish the drink off.
What tools do I need to make a sparkling wine mojito?
You really don’t need much in order to make a mojito and this sparkling wine version is no exception. You don’t need a cocktail shaker or a strainer which makes a change from most mixed drinks.
The only tool you’ll need to make this cocktail:
If you don’t have a muddler, you can get by with the wrong end of a wooden spoon but a muddler does make things much easier and they are pretty inexpensive.
How To Make The Champagne Mojito
Step 1:Muddle The ingredients
Muddle the rum, mint, lime and simple sugar in a glass using a muddler
Step 2: Add Ice
Add ice to the glass
Step 3: Top with champagne
Slowly fill your glass with champagne. I use high ball glasses for my champagne mojitos but you can also use tumblers.
Step 4: Stir and garnish
Add a slice of lime or some mint leaves for garnish if desired. I added frozen cranberries to my drink to make it perfect for the holidays.
