The only tool you’ll need to make this cocktail:
- A cocktail shaker
- A strainer for pouring the drink without the ice.
Don’t have the tools you need?
If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, a large mason jar works just as well in a pinch.
Use the mason jar lid or a plate to strain the drink if you don’t own a strainer.
Steps for making a grapefruit martini with vodka
Step 1
Combine the ingredients and some ice in a cocktail shaker and shake for 15 seconds

Strain into a martini glass
Step 3
Garnish with a mint leaf or a slice of grapefruit

The Grapefruit Vodka Martini is one of my favorite cocktails, especially in the summertime. But I love it all year long because it’s so easy to make and just tastes delicious!
If you are looking for a pink cocktail for a special occasion then you can use pink grapefruit juice instead of regular white juice.
Pink grapefruit is slightly sweeter than white grapefruit plus it is packed with the phytonutrient, lycopene, which is a powerful cancer fighter.

Grapefruit Vodka Martini
This refreshing martini is perfect for any time of year but it really comes into its own in the summer months.
Ingredients
- 4 oz Vodka
- 1 /2 oz simple syrup
- 2 oz grapefruit juice
- Juice of one freshly squeezed lime
- Grapefruit slice and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice
- Shake for 15-30 seconds
- Strain into a martini glass
- Garnish with a mint leaf and a slice of grapefruit if desired
Notes
- You can use either regular grapefruit juice or pink grapefruit juice which is slightly sweeter
- This vodka can be substituted for gin if you prefer.
