The Perfect Jack Frost Cocktail

Jack Frost Martini

In the dead of winter, there’s nothing more refreshing than a Jack Frost cocktail.

This icy beverage is perfect for the colder months.

But who was Jack Frost, and how did this drink come to be named after him?

Legend has it that Jack Frost was a mischievous spirit who loved to play tricks on people.

The legend originally comes from the Norse figure called Jokul Frosti, a wicked frost giant that become popular in Britain and North America as someone who played tricks during the winter.

Our Jack Frost cocktail is one of my favorite winter cocktails because it tastes so good. Similar to The Grinch Cocktail, it is a tropical treat that you could easily enjoy poolside in the summer too.

These are the simple ingredients you need for this yummy cocktail. For full step-by-step instructions, scroll down to our recipe card at the bottom of the page.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup Blue Curacao
  • 1/2 cup light rum
  • 1/2 cup cream of coconut
  • Peppermint Schnapps
  • cups crushed ice
  • 1/3 cup sweetened coconut flakes for rimming
  • Honey for rimming

As far as special equipment goes, you will need a blender for this recipe.

Personally, I use the Margaritaville mixer because it allows me to make 3 drinks at one time. If you don’t have one, any blender that can crush ice will work great!

How To Rim Your Glass With Coconut

Although it is optional, adding the coconut to your glass is the perfect way to up the ante on your cocktail. Plus it only takes a couple of minutes!

All you need to do is pour some honey or light corn syrup onto a shallow saucer and some shredded coconut on another saucer.

First dip your glass in the honey and then in the coconut. Let the coconut set for a few minutes before serving your drink.

How To Serve Your Jack Frost Cocktail

This drink is so pretty that you don’t need to add many extra touches. If you would like to make it extra special, here are some ideas:

Make a Jack Frost Punch: Double or triple the recipe and you have a great Christmas punch for a crowd.

Serve in a glass bowl: If you are hosting a party, serving this drink in frosted glasses or even ice sculpture bowls will really wow your guests!

Add whipped cream and a maraschino cherry: Make it extra festive with a whipped cream topping.
